More than 20% of germinal centre B-cells should show a weak to moderate nuclear staining reaction, while less than 10% of the mantle zone B-cells should be demonstrated in tonsil.

Colon cancer tissue:

Appendix tissue: Dispersed epithelial cells in the basal parts of the crypts should show a weak to moderate nuclear staining reaction, while the luminal epithelial cells are negative.

Positive tissue controls should only be utilized for monitoring the correct performance of processed tissues and test reagents, rather than as an aid in the interpretation of samples. If the positive tissue controls fail to demonstrate positive staining, results with the test specimens should be considered invalid.
